The NFL is a diverse organization with each team managing their own finances mostly independently. However, they still need to share this information across clubs and with the league office–for revenue sharing, ticket tracking and other reasons. The old way of doing things was to simply email spreadsheets to each other, however this was inefficient and prone to errors. Files got lost and had to be resent, updated versions made previous ones already used for calculations irrelevant, and it was difficult for the league to track what had been received from whom at glance.
Enter the new Club and Labor Finance Portal! This central location has published APIs for plugging into existing club systems or allows users to upload csv files. This simplifies things for everyone and allows for a host of robust and advanced reports and analytics. Now everyone can track their finances easily and glean new information to make them even more successful in years to come.
In addition to design comps, I also helped gather requirements, wrote surveys, interviewed stakeholders and users, and built wireframes and prototypes.
